The Matrix

Often called "minimalist" architecture, International Style (1914-1970) buildings are known for the way they strip away all extraneous ornament from the structure, leading to: a blurring of interior and exterior space; the exposure of a building’s construction with unvarnished honesty; and, the glorification of modern industrial materials, chiefly, steel, concrete, and glass. This particular example of the international style is so minimal that when viewed in the abstract it is nearly impossible to tell if it is being viewed in its correct orientation.
